Great for teaching conventional forcible entry of a padlock with a set of irons or a duckbill lock breaker. The OG prop has two small set screws in the body of the lock that create friction that must be overcome when the lock is forced.
This was the very first training prop I ever made, over 20 years ago. In the early 2000s, I was teaching for several fire academies and running my own training company. We were burning through padlocks at a crazy rate just to teach students how to force them using an axe and a Halligan bar.
To save money and time, I engineered a solution: I drilled holes through the lock body and the shackle, using a standard roofing nail to hold them together. It worked perfectly, allowing us to get multiple repetitions out of a single lock.
I used that handmade method for about a year before getting my very first professional prop machined. While the design has evolved and taken many shapes over the last two decades, our commitment to quality has never changed.
Today's OG Prop is fully machined, hardened, and anodized black. It is extremely rugged, built to last, and engineered to withstand the toughest training environments.
